Special Needs Kitties
Some people take in an animal for what they get out of it. Others take an animal in for what the animal may get out of it. Either way, when you give an animal in need a home, everybody wins.
That said, consider that often, when you take in an animal that is in a spot of trouble, what you get back is huge, be it the satisfaction at the success you've had with the challenged animal, or the love and appreciation such an animal will give once it has learned to trust that you'll always be there.
Kudos to all of you who have already taken on such challenges!

KELSEY
Kelsey (Female, 2-3 Years Old): Kelsey is a strikingly beautiful long haired cat. She is a loving, friendly cat who purrs immediately when picked up. As all other cats in the Shelter, she was found outside wandering the streets. She seems to have one bad habit - she uses the litter box to pee but always poops outside the box, often just along side it. If she was in a single cat household, where she doesn't have to share a litter box, would she use it? Maybe. Could this bad habit be corrected? The books say yes. It would take lots of patience and attention. Is there a home somewhere where her behaviour could be tolerated if it did not change? She is such a sweetheart, we would love to find her a loving, understanding and happy forever home. Please, please think about giving Kelsey the chance she needs and deserves!
COPPER
ADOPTED! Thanks Andrea! Copper (Male, 3-4 years old): Copper is a placid, quiet and happy cat. He is friendly, likes people, but is afraid of dogs. He is always at the door to greet the first person in the morning. Copper tests positive for FIV. If he did not carry this misunderstood virus, he would long since have been adopted. He is in good health, not on any medication and is expected to live a long and normal life.
DENVER
ADOPTED! Thanks Pat! Denver (Male, Born July 2009): Denver is a playful kitten who started life with an upper respiratory tract infection which had left him 'snuffly' and seriously affected his eye sight. He was taken to an opthalmologist (yes, this is where your donations go!) and as a result, 80% of his vision was saved. Do any of these 'problems' stop him? Absolutely not! He keeps up with his siblings in every way, running and playing as they do. Half the time he's the one who leads them into mischief! He is ready for adoption, ideally, with sister Tulip!
