Food Drive 2012 - Headed by Marie Alberga Galati

We have many wonderful, dedicated volunteers at the shelter, without whom we would not be able to achieve all that we do. Marie is one such volunteer.

In a class of her own, Marie is an energetic, enthusiastic volunteer who repeatedly outdoes even herself! Marie amazes us with her ingenuity, optimism and most of all - heart!

In the spirit of Marie, she took it upon herself to run a food drive for the shelter this holiday season and has exceeded even her own expectations. Aiming to raise 200 cans of food, Marie has actually raised over 500 cans! Quite the achievment, right? Well it didn't end there. Concurrently, she worked with the Aurora Pet Valu store and for every Facebook "like" that Marie obtained for them, Pet Valu donated 25 cents to her, resulting in funds Marie then used to purchase even more food for the shelter!

Thank you Marie, for everything that you do and for simply being our Marie!

We can't wait to see what you do next Marie!

Jessica Brown's NTCR Fundraiser

This fundraiser will be to benefit an organization that is very near and dear to me- the north toronto cat rescue! http://www.northtorontocatrescue.com/

Here is the plan:

If you can, bring (at least) one bag of any clothing, books etc. that you no longer want/have any use for. guests can then "swap" clothing and hopefully find some treasure in someone else's "trash". there will be a "pay what you can" entrance fee, as well each item will have a $2 charge. drinks, cupcakes and other goodies will be available for $1 each. obviously, donations will be accepted as well.

I hope everyone can make it out, but if not- please do what you can and volunteer or make a donation to the north toronto cat rescue! (details are on their website).

Thanks to everyone in advance for your support!

I would also like to thank alayna and jonathan kellet for offering to host this event at their super awesome fitness studio- The Body Temple! check it out!

The Alberga-Galati Boys

Check out these enterprising young men!

Andrew and Christian had to get up early in the morning to pull this off. This of course meant that some of their friends had cupcakes for breakfast! But hey! It was for a good cause!

Take a page from these industrious girls' book! Or use your imagination - the sky is the limit when people get creative.

Hannah and Krystin ran a lemonade stand back in March 2010 to raise money for the NTCR kitties!
