Evolution finalizes acquisition of BTG
Since the year 2018, the Evolution Group has embarked on a series of resounding acquisitions. It all started with the acquisition of one of its main competitors, namely Ezugi software also specializing in live games. Then, in 2020, Evolution made its mark by acquiring the famous Netent, which also owns Red Tiger.
Finally, during the month of April, it continued its shopping spree by announcing the acquisition of Big Time Gaming (BTG). This acquisition has just been finalized.
A buyout estimated at 450 million euros
In order for the Evolution group to acquire BTG, it still had to obtain a series of regulatory approvals. As these were finally received, it was able to conclude the transaction by purchasing no less than 1 105 032 shares. It was on April 12, 2021 that Evolution had entered into an agreement to acquire the entire issued share capital of BTG for a total estimated financial consideration of EUR 450 million, payable in cash and shares.
As a result of this transaction, the Evolution Group can now count on a catalog of 5 prestigious brands: Evolution, Ezugi, Netent, Red Tiger and BTG. Games from these developers can be found in mobile online casinos.
